Bradley Beach is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 4,298, reflecting a decline of 495 from the 4,793 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 318 from the 4,475 counted in the 1990 Census. The summer population can reach 30,000. Bradley Beach was named for James A. Bradley, the developer responsible for the creation of the Bradley Beach and Asbury Park. In 1871, William B. Bradner, with James A. Bradley as an investor, acquired 54 acres of land north of Avon-by-the-Sea, and south of Ocean Grove.
Dotting the one hundred and twenty-seven miles of gorgeous New Jersey coast are a wide variety of shore towns. Some of these Jersey Shore communities are historical, some family-oriented, some high-end vacation destinations, and others fly completely under the radar. Brady Beach, New Jersey, is among the most noteworthy shore towns with a population of just over four thousand people. It has been increasing in popularity since the turn of the twentieth century when New Yorkers began buying summer homes along its coast. Originally, the community had a beautiful wooden boardwalk overlooking Ocean Avenue, but that was eventually replaced.
Today, Bradley Beach offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities, including scuba diving, boating, bocce ball, fishing, and golf. And speaking of golf, in nearby Eatontown, you’ll find Old Orchard Country Club, and near Allenhurst is the Deal Golf and Country Club. The Shark River Golf Course is another popular course in the area. Bradley Beach also boasts a Main Street dotted with watering holes, restaurants, and service businesses, in addition to the shopping and dining destinations along the aforementioned Ocean Avenue. Moreover, this family-friendly community has conveniently located schools, including Bradley Beach School serving pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
Real estate in Bradley Beach is as diverse as the area’s many amenities. You’ll find lovely single-family homes for sale in Bradley Beach, as well as a wide range of condos. Only fifty-nine miles from New York, Bradley Beach beachfront real estate is a great option for a summer home, though there are many excellent choices for buyers seeking a new primary residence as well. Furthermore, there is rail service via New Jersey transit for those commuting to the Big Apple, with connections to New York Penn Station and Newark Penn Station.
